Transitional Residential Treatment

The Goal
To foster new behaviors and problem-solving through constructive peer feedback.

The TRT program is a 45-60 day inpatient program for the treatment of chemical dependency in a group living setting. Clients in this program are required to seek work upon completion of week two and are required to be working by week three.

Living in a drug free environment, coupled with working in the community are two of the factors that make this a successful transition program.

Clients in the TRT program will address their chemical dependency by attending six group therapy sessions, one gender group meeting, and two educational groups per week. Individual therapy with a primary counselor also occurs at least one time per week.

TRT Client Focus

  • Development of a new peer group
  • Seeking and obtaining legal employment
  • Understanding of thoughts and emotions that lead to risky behaviors
  • Mental Health education
  • Developing conflict resolution skills
  • Planning for avoidance of relapse
  • Referrals for ongoing treatment

Admission Process
Clients in this program must be 18 or older. To access treatment, a client must have an evaluation to determine individual needs. These may be obtained through any of the Island Grove offices. A deposit is required prior to admission.

Testimonials

I am the mother of Brady. From the bottom of my heart, first I truly want to thank you for allowing Brady to participate in ICAPP (In-Custody Alternative Placement) and for taking the time and resources to develop this program.

Brady's participation in the treatment program has changed his life. Brady is closing in on five months of sobriety. The first day that he walked into Island Grove Treatment Center, I knew he was going to give 100% by his demeanor, but he has overwhelmed me and his family more then we ever dreamed. All of the elements of the treatment program are making a success story, but the counseling has been beneficial and is the secret to his success. It helps getting counseling from someone other than a family member because the conversation sinks in.

Brady is taking his rehabilitation seriously and has made his entire family proud because he has turned his life around.

All of us at one time or another can say someone made a difference or a significant impact in our lives. Even though you don't know Brady on a personal level, this program has changed his life forever. I sincerely thank you because you are the ones who made a difference in changing a young man's destiny.

Brady is back on track and is an exceptional young man who is once again honest, trustworthy, dependable, and can make a positive contribution to our society.

I want you to be proud of your program because, in Brady's case, the treatment is working as it was designed.

Thank you -

Laura
